Hiking is a popular thing to do around Chetco Lake; Chetco Peak Trail is a glorious local trail. A pretty lake like Lish Lake in the vicinity of Chetco Lake is a magnificent place to pop by; the Upper Chetco Trail offers hiking at its best. The high level of precipitation makes Chetco Lake a relatively wet place; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily December, that's the one that rains the most;       July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is located in the wonderful Coast Ranges. This lake is so wonderful. Do have a look at Vulcan Lake next to Chetco Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and Illinois River is a great whitewater spot close by. Chetco Peak is clearly visible from Chetco Lake; you can run the rapids of Smith River - North Fork. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Coast Ranges will keep you coming back time and again. If you                  need a site to stay Best Western Beachfront Inn is a wonderful choice, and if you came for an overnight stay Meadow Creek Campground is a fine place to camp. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Chetco Lake. Camping is available at Shelly Creek Campground; Chetco Lake is right by the Chetco Divide Trail. High temperatures at Chetco Lake through the warm months are in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's.
