If you are in Curry county it's always a good idea to stop by Chetco Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges. What a location this is for outdoors people. If you need a site to stay Sea Dreamer Inn is a great choice. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun things to do in the Coast Ranges. Stay the night at Meadow Creek Campground; on a delightful day you get a delightful view of Chetco Peak from Chetco Lake.

| | is a relatively wet place usually with lots of precipitation; December is the month that gets the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. A glorious location for whitewater paddling right next door to Chetco Lake is Smith River - North Fork; Chetco Lake is right by the Chetco Divide Trail. Chetco Lake is a perfect place to camp, Shelly Creek Campground is a perfect place, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Upper Chetco Trail.

through the months of summer here at Chetco Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 60's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Chetco Lake are in the 40's.
This lake is so wonderful. Illinois River is a wonderful whitewater spot next to Chetco Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Chetco Lake; Chetco Peak Trail is a good local trail.
