What a nice lake Chautauqua Lake is. Camping is available at Town and Country Mobile Estates, and a great close by hotel is Comfort Suites Clackamas. Chautauqua Lake is a site with many visitors from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, and a pleasant location for whitewater paddling is Clackamas River. We are on both the Sandy River and Beavercreek with full 58inch hookups, 30/50 amps, all concrete....We stayed at the Sandy River RV Park in July with our 3 grandchildren. We found the park to be clean, quiet, friendly,? very well located, and we would definately return! Although there is no pool, or playground equipment, there is a beautiful river for swimming and wading, hiking trails to explore and nature everywhere. A real hidden gem in the Portland area. Don't Go all the way to wilsonville for a hotel. if you head in towards portland on the 26, there are plenty of hotels from government camp to welches. Personally if you're going to a lake in the mountains you should be CAMPING. And there are plenty of sites to do so, both reserved and not. There are great hiking trails and it's also full of fish and crawdads. Boating is a must if possible.... |
