What a nice lake Cast Lake is. Through the days of summer, highs generally are in the 70's at Cast Lake. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Cast Lake drop into the 30's. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Central Cascade Range is excellent! Dry warm beds await you at Whispering Woods (Vri), and a

| | great place like Old Maid Flat here at Cast Lake is too splendid to miss. Very wonderful scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Timberline Lodge, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Burnt Lake Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. This is a popular place for folks from Hood River. There's so much to do here at Cast Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Devils Meadow Campground is a great place | |

for that. This lake is so wonderful. Mount Hood Inn is a good site to get some rest, and hiking along the Cast Creek Trail is delightful fun. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the vicinity of Cast Lake. Since you
might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Mirror Lake, and if you came to camp Twin Bridges Campground is a fine spot to do that. Cast Lake is a relatively wet place typically with a good deal of precipitation;
of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain while July is typically the driest month. What would winter be without some skiing at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl; get yourself into a kayak and hit Zigzag River. This lake
is so wonderful. Take a side spree to Lady Creek; float down the rapids of Sandy River in a kayak. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the Central Cascade Range has to offer. Going for a hike along the
Devils Canyon Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; the summit of Cape Horn can be observed from Cast Lake. What a place this is for outdoors folks.
