John Day Golf Club is a golf course in close proximity to Carpenter Pond, and you can go for a hike on the Fawn Spring Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Mountains. Be careful coming to the Blue Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. There's       great hiking along the Canyon Mountain Trail. Lakes? Sure, San Juan Log Ponds is in close proximity. That right there is lots of cool things already but it goes on, the Blue Mountains has it all. If you need a spot to stay Best Western John Day Inn is a fine choice, and Carpenter Pond is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Clyde Holliday is a brilliant place to camp nearby. Not far from Carpenter Pond, you'll stumble on Patterson Pond which                  is a lovely lake, and let's not forget East Fork Luce Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Berry Creek Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Carpenter Pond has to offer, you can camp at Mt Vernon Motel and Trailer Park. Since you're here at Carpenter Pond why not take a look at Chimney Gulch, and a spree to Carpenter Pond wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Benson Spring. This lake is so wonderful. Burns - Days Inn Ponderosa is a glorious place to get some rest. Carpenter Pond is typically a quite dried up place; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July. At Carpenter Pond all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 40's.
