If you like lakes and you're in this part of Oregon you can check out Butte Lake. Summertime highs at Butte Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly chillier of course, regularly in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Butte Lake. The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. | | rest, and Cascade Sports Camp is a perfect local campground. Camp Dakota is a wonderful campground nearby; one of the governing features of the surroundings of Butte Lake is Dog Rock. All year is a magnificent time in the Central Cascade Range if you love the outdoors. here at Butte Lake. Fibre Creek flows through this area, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Mollala River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Santiam River - Little North for all you adrenaline
rush seekers; nearby you stumble on the Pine Crest Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. Butte Lake is a reasonably wet place ordinarily with lots of rain; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months
is July. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Central Cascade Range. Go for a hike on the High Camp Trail, and Butte Lake is not the only location close by, Fibre Lake is a close by lake. You could also go to Rhody
Lake since you're here at Butte Lake; it's nearby, and close to Butte Lake you come across a golf course called Elkhorn Valley Golf Course.

Pine Crest Trail
 | ...rest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. However, when we got to the gate we came in through, we found that while we were away, someone had closed and locked it. We were trapped, and not the ... |
