Burglund Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Don't leave Burglund Pond without first going for a hike along the Eagle Creek Cutoff, and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bull Run. Eagle Creek is a great whitewater spot close to Burglund Pond, and good hiking is available along the Dry Ridge Trail. a great location to spend a night or two; Armstrong - Mount Hood National Forest is a fine local campground. Burglund Pond is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. Burglund Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most
of the rain falls through December; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Sandy Inn is a nice location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Fanton Plaza Trail,
and some of the water nearby flows, like Kasch Creek. Through the summer here at Burglund Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Burglund Pond.

Pine Crest Trail
 | 19 miles away ...and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. However, when we got to the gate we came in through, we found that while we were away, someone had closed and locked it. We were trapped, and not the least bit scared... |
