Blow Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Throughout the warmest time of the year here at Blow Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's while Blow Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Very picturesque scenery and nice skiing is what you get at Willamette

| | Pass. And that's not all the things to do here in the Central Cascade Range. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Deschutes River; nearby you stumble on the Sunset Lake Trail which is a good hiking trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. Blow Lake generally gets a good deal of rain; through December this area sees the most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month. Blow Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors fun stuff. You could also go to Elk Lake while you're here at Blow Lake; it's close by, and camping is available at East Lake Resort and RV Parks. Whitewater paddling is glorious on
Squaw Creek, and a trip to Elk Lake Springs will fill your spirit with wonderful feelings. So much exciting stuff in the Central Cascade Range, just tremendous. What would winter be without some skiing at Mt. Bachelor, and the Senoj
Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. If the weather is splendid here at Blow Lake, you can go for a hike along the Six Lakes Trail; the summit of Elk Mountain can be seen from Blow Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp
at Upper Campground since you're here at Blow Lake, and Blow Lake is not the only location nearby, Doris Lake is a nearby lake.

Winopee Lake
 | Went to Winopee lake this weekend...it was a little dissapointing because the lake is about 45% covered with reeds and lilly pads. The Eastern shore is the only one you can accesst the water without having to wade through reeds. There is quite a few algae blooms so swimming isn't an option. Overall, the view was nice but not spectacular. There are three decent campsites at the lake, popular with horse camps. The best of the three sites is the one on the Eastern bank, take the first trail you come accross before reaching the junction for sno-shoe lake. The second and third campsites are on the West bank and are a little harder to find...head for the clifs and you are there.... |

Davis Lake
 | 16 miles away This website needs updating. I was there on Aug. 2nd,3rd, and 4th 2007. There are a LOT of bass there. We saw NO trout at all, and no one we talked to had caught or seen one. I was there with 2 others for bass fishing. there is no camping at the west boat launch area. Day use only. There are 2 camp sites on the east side. The Lava Flow site is closed, and has been for some time. There is a primative site there. No water or elec. and very primative boat launching area. You have to pole or row through the tules to get out on the lake. The old campground is closed because of Eagles nest there. Eagles are no longer on the endangerd spieces list. Why not re-open that area. it has a great boat ramp. Bass fishing was great, but not many large fish when we were there. Lots of smaller bass. We were told it was real good in late June and first half of July. We will try again next year.... |
