Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Southern Cascade Range. There are swamps here too; Beaverdam Lake is in the neighborhood, and after a long day outdoors Fremont Inn is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. It is very dried up here at Big Swamp Reservoir frequently; December is when you get the most snow here, and July is the month with the least moisture. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do       in the Southern Cascade Range. Big Swamp Reservoir is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Dairy Creek Campground is a fine local campground; a pleasant visit to Creed Field is a tremendous way to spend an afternoon. Summertime highs at Big Swamp Reservoir usually tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's while Big Swamp Reservoir night low temperatures during the wintertime                  are in the 10's. If you get bored of Big Swamp Reservoir, you could also take a look at close by Petes Puddle, and camping at Hunter's RV and Grocery is always a great experience. Big Swamp Dam is a beautiful place in the neighborhood of Big Swamp Reservoir; Heart Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This place, Big Swamp Reservoir, it simply has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Big Swamp Creek is close to Big Swamp Reservoir and is always a delight to have a look at, and if you want to pop by some exciting stuff, pop by Hoyts Hole. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Whisky Spring Trail, and going for a hike along the Gearhart Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful.
