Take a hike on the Eagle Creek Cutoff, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Sandy River. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 70's at Big Sandy Reservoir. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for Big Sandy Reservoir tend to be in the       30's. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. Big Sandy Reservoir is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Bigfoot Lodge and Trailer Court is a fine local campground, and camping at Armstrong - Mount Hood National Forest is always a glorious experience. After a long day outdoors Brookside Bed & Breakfast is a great spot to spend a night or two, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend                  Little Sandy River. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do near Big Sandy Reservoir. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Fanton Plaza Trail, and if you need a location to stay Shamrock Motel is a good choice. So much exciting stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range, not enough time. A delightful lake like Alder Reservoir in the vicinity of Big Sandy Reservoir is a brilliant spot to pop by, and obviously Arrow Creek flows through this region. A lot of rain falls at Big Sandy Reservoir; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful.
