There is a glorious hiking trail close to Big Reservoir called the Crane Mountain National Recreation Trail. There's so much to do here at Big Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Cave Lake Campground is a good location for that, and Warner Canyon is a brilliant local ski area. Big Lake is a nice place, and going for a hike on the Highgrade Trail is always a fine adventure.       At Big Reservoir during the summertime months highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 30's; nighttime lows at Big Reservoir during the winter generally descend into the 10's. Big Reservoir is a location that is rather dried up typically; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful.
