Just can't get enough of the Blue Mountains. Hard Scrabble Reservoir is a good lake close to Big Mowich Reservoir, and John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is one of the destinations that are nice to stop by nearby. If you came for an overnight stay Pine Tree Campground is a magnificent spot to camp, and Big Mowich Reservoir is right by the South Prong Trail. That right there       is a lot already, but it continues; Big Mowich Reservoir has it all. Holding Pasture is right here at Big Mowich Reservoir. Lakes? Sure, Elk Reservoir is in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Black Canyon Trail is perfect fun, and Fish House Inn is a nice local campground. Through the summertime at Big Mowich Reservoir temperatures are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter brings                  highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Big Mowich Reservoir. Have a nice hiking adventure along the Coffeepot Trail, and Blue Pot Spring is a charming spot to take a look at while you're at Big Mowich Reservoir. It is very dry here at Big Mowich Reservoir mostly; through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and September on the other hand is the driest. And if that's not enough there's loads more exciting stuff to do in the Blue Mountains. Basin Creek flows through this vicinity.
