A great place to camp here at Beeres Pond is Cascade Sports Camp, and if you come at the right time of year, Mollala River - North Fork offers some great whitewater. And if that's not enough there's a load more cool things to do in the Central Cascade Range. Beeres Pond is right by the High Camp Trail, obviously you could also stop at Pelkey Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff to

| | do here in the Central Cascade Range. The Pine Crest Trail offers hiking at its best. Beeres Pond is one of the lakes here in the Central Cascade Range. So much exciting stuff to do here at Beeres Pond, too great to be true. Hiking along the Baty Silver King Trail is wonderful fun, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mollala River - South Fork. rain, and July is when it's the driest. During the summer months highs here at Beeres Pond get into the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's
while the cold winter nights at Beeres Pond are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Beeres Pond, you could go to Bauer Creek; Beeres Pond is not the only location close by, Corbia Lake is a close by lake. Why
not camp at Camp Dakota since you're here at Beeres Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Rivershore Hotel.

Pine Crest Trail
 | ... and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. However, when we got to the gate we came in through, we found that while we were away, someone had closed and locked it. We were trapped, and not the least bit scare... |
