If you are traveling by, why not stop by Beaver Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Fort Stevens State Park, and a pleasant spree to Hammond Boat Basin is a brilliant way to spend an afternoon. Beaver Lake gets a large amount of water; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. And if that's not enough there's plenty more amusing stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. The Cannon Beach Trail offers hiking at its best,

| | and do pay a visit to Fort Clatsop National Memorial while you're here at Beaver Lake.
Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Astoria Inn; beaches are good and Sunset Beach is no exception. Man, is there loads of enjoyable stuff to do in close proximity to Beaver Lake. Astoria Golf & Country Club is a wonderful way to kill some time.
Beaver Lake is located in the Coast Ranges. The warmest time of the year at Beaver Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 60's, and during the night it cools
down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Beaver Lake. There's some flowing water close by, Tansy Creek is a stream you can explore during your stay, and if you need a place
to stay Red Lion Inn Astoria is a nice choice.
Just can't get enough of the Coast Ranges. There's so much to do here at Beaver Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Astoria/Warrenton/Seaside KOA is a brilliant spot for that, and a great swamp next to Beaver Lake is Brallier Swamp.
