The beauty of Bear Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Mt. Hood Meadows is perfect, and why not a little side trip to Gate Creek. A good close by hotel is Skamania Lodge, and don't leave Bear Lake without first going for a hike along the Herman Creek Trail. Whitewater paddling is great on Hood River - Lake Branch, and if you came for an overnight stay Timberlake Campground is a delightful place to camp.

Mount Defiance; there are great spots to discover along the Wyeth Trail. Through the months of summer at Bear Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. For the duration

Bear Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls through December; the driest of the months is July.
