    If you are in Crook county it's always a good idea to stop by Battle Ridge Reservoir. All year is a fine time in the Blue Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Don't leave Battle Ridge Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Owl Creek Trail, and a tour to Battle Ridge Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Dusty Camp Springs. Around Battle Ridge Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is November, and  
   September is when it's the driest. There are splendid places to explore along the Black Canyon Trail, and a visit to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is recommended.
You can catch a glimpse of Tamarack Butte from Battle Ridge Reservoir, and Battle Ridge Reservoir is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Little Summit Campground is a glorious local campground. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Mountains. That right there is plenty
 
               already, but it goes on; Battle Ridge Reservoir has it all. A lake close by is Blue Jay Reservoir.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Battle Ridge Reservoir; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's while Battle Ridge Reservoir nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Pine Tree Campground is a brilliant site to do that, and going for a hike on the Coffeepot Trail is always a wonderful adventure.
