Bacon Camp Waterhole is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; a short journey to North Desert Waterhole is always worthwhile. Barney Waterhole gets very little precipitation; through the month of June you get the most rain around here while February is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. At Barney Waterhole you can make out Black Cap, and you can stay the night at Hot Springs Campground.

For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's.
