Oregon has many beautiful lakes and Bare Lake is one of them. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. Upper Campground is a great campground nearby; do take a hike on the Broken Top Trail. So much cool stuff to do at Bare Lake, so little time. While you're here at Bare Lake you can take a hike along the Quinn Creek Trail; a lake close by is Corral Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Ponderosa Lodge is a delightful location

| | to get some rest; hey, Gotta ski right? Mt. Bachelor is a tremendous location to do that. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Deschutes River; do put some time aside to spend at Soda Spring while you're here at Bare Lake. East Lake Resort and RV Parks is a nice local campground, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Mud Lake Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Five Pine Lodge. lake is so wonderful. A spree to Dutchman Flat revitalizes the spirit; if you get bored of Bare Lake you could also stop at nearby Todd Lake. During the summer at Bare Lake highs are regularly in the 70's, and through the night it
cools down to the 40's. During the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Bare Lake. Bare Lake gets a good deal of water; the month of December is the wettest with most of the
snow; July meanwhile is the driest month. So many amusing things to do in the Central Cascade Range, not enough time. Crater Creek flows through this region, and drift down the rapids of Squaw Creek in a kayak.

Winopee Lake
 | 16 miles away Went to Winopee lake this weekend...it was a little dissapointing because the lake is about 45% covered with reeds and lilly pads. The Eastern shore is the only one you can accesst the water without having to wade through reeds. There is quite a few algae blooms so swimming isn't an option. Overall, the view was nice but not spectacular. There are three decent campsites at the lake, popular with horse camps. The best of the three sites is the one on the Eastern bank, take the first trail you come accross before reaching the junction for sno-shoe lake. The second and third campsites are on the West bank and are a little harder to find...head for the clifs and you are there.... |
