Hunter Campground is a brilliant local campground; at Altnow Gap Reservoir you can catch a glimpse of Carey Tables. Altnow Gap Reservoir gets very little rainfall; December is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest month of the year is July. A short trip to Cottonwood Spring is always worthwhile; if you want a little side spree, try Altnow Gap.
