    Many people like to go to Lake Alta. One of the overriding traits of the surroundings of Lake Alta is Devils Peak, and since you're here you can take a hike along the King Spruce Trail. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Lake Alta. The Alta Lake Trail is a magnificent hiking trail in the vicinity of Lake Alta, and if you're here, you could also take a look at lovely Boulder Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to stop at some attention-grabbing  
   stuff, stop at Boston Bluff, and Honeymoon Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Lake Alta is splendid fun, Hemlock Lake Campground is a splendid local campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Rogue River - North Fork. If the weather is tremendous here at Lake Alta, you can go for a hike along the Seven Lakes Trail; Seven Lakes Basin is
 
               right here at Lake Alta.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the Southern Cascade Range has to offer. Lake Alta is a delightful place to camp, Upper South Fork Campground is a delightful place, and dry warm beds await you at Rocky Point Station Lodging. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Southern Cascade Range rules! Mazama Village Motor Inn is a nice place to get some rest; stopping by Crater Lake National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. At Lake Alta during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 60's with night lows in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows at Lake Alta during the winter regularly plunge into the 10's.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Alta a wet location; December is the month that gets the most snow; the driest of the months is July. The Southern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful.
