Hiking is a popular thing to do around Allen Pool; Lower River Trail is a good local trail. If you like the outdoors, you'll love Allen Pool. Big Eddy is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and Allen Pool is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Agness RV Park is a pleasant local campground. If you feel like a little side tour, try Agness Bar, and a perfect location for whitewater paddling is Illinois River. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Snow Camp Trail; dry warm beds await you at Pacific Reef Resort. A good spot to camp here at Allen Pool is McCurdy Campground, and do have a look at Blue Jay Creek if you're here at Allen Pool. Allen Pool is a relatively wet place frequently with much precipitation; December is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is July.
