The beauty of Abiqua Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. During the summertime here at Abiqua Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's; the overnight is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Abiqua Lake. Camp Dakota is a good campground nearby, and Abiqua Lake is right

| | by the Crabtree Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such serene spots, why not pop by Pelkey Lake in the vicinity of Abiqua Lake; why not take a refreshing hike along the Pine Crest Trail. A delightful close by hotel is Rodeway Inn Sublimity, and Abiqua Lake is a glorious spot to visit for more than one day, Taylor Park is a glorious spot to camp nearby. is a glorious site to visit, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Kirk Creek. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Central Cascade Range. The top of Buck Point is easily
observed from Abiqua Lake, and enjoy a round of golf at Elkhorn Valley Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Abiqua Basin is a glorious spot to stretch your legs a bit. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing
about it here in the Central Cascade Range. Santiam River - Little North is a great whitewater spot next to Abiqua Lake, and do take a hike on the Snow Peak Mill City Trail. Abiqua Lake is a wet spot that gets a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is December; July is when it's the driest.

Pine Crest Trail
 | ... can no longer be reached. A friend and I tried to go there last weekend and we were disappointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs.
