Hello,Do you have pictures to share of past reunions, activities, and the lake etc from Yonkipin?I have an old picture of a Frisco Railroad picnic that was taken at Yonkipin in the early 20's. My grandfather, Dennis Wortman was a Frisco Engineer.I have searched many years, off and on for Yonkipin (all the old folks are gone now)so I had nothing but the name to go by and here is where I am embarassed - it's practically in my own back yard. We live southwest of Catoosa.I used askjeeves.com where Yonkipin Lake is located and up popped your site. I about fainted. ha.My husband and I are going to try to find it next weekend. Will you please advise the directions from Catoosa to Yonkipin Lake?Must be a wonderful place. Seems there were a lot of Frisco picnic's there.Thank you very much.P.S. Yonkipin Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. So much amusing stuff to do at Yonkipin Lake, so little time. Arkansas River is a delightful whitewater spot near Yonkipin Lake, and Rascal Flat is a perfect place to stretch your legs a bit. Yonkipin Lake gets a normal amount of rain; during May this area sees the most rain; January is the month with the least moisture. Throughout the warm days of summer at Yonkipin Lake temperatures

| | are generally in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 70's. For the period of the winter highs are frequently in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Yonkipin Lake temperatures sink to the 20's.
The friendly folks of Tulsa like to hang out close by. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Yonkipin Lake has to offer, you can camp at Willowrun Mobile Home Park. A quick visit to Bird Creek right next | |

door to Yonkipin Lake is a great idea, and a nice nearby hotel is Cherokee Casino Resort.
This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Catoosa Koa Kampground, and Heritage Hills Golf Course is a good golf course nearby. The scenery
at Yonkipin Lake Dam in close proximity to Yonkipin Lake is delightful; after a long day outdoors Cherokee Catoosa Resort is a great place to spend a night or two.
