Camping is available at Horse Thief Spring Campground, and going for a hike on the Boardstand Trail                  is always a splendid adventure. All the water falling down from the sky makes Wister Lake a wet spot; during the month of May you get the most rain around here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This location, the Ouachita Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. There's some flowing water nearby, Caston Creek is a stream you can explore during your stay, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn and Suites Poteau is a brilliant site to spend a night or two. So much fun stuff to do in the Ouachita Mountains, not enough time. A lake close by is Clear Lake.
