Veterans Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Camping is available at Eastside Trailer Park, and a trip to Chickasaw National Recreation Area is recommended. At Veterans Lake during the summertime highs are in the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 70's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 50's with temperatures at Veterans Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Camping

This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Washita River; Town Motel is a nice location to get some rest. Travertine Creek is a stunning stream that is worth taking a look at, and going for a hike on the Cliffside Trail is always a glorious adventure.
