An average amount of rainfall falls at Upper Strange Pond; during May this area sees the most rain while January is typically the driest month. At Upper Strange Pond during the days of summer highs are in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The top of Daly Hill is easily seen from Upper Strange Pond; if you came to camp Letra Campground and Picnic Area is a wonderful site to do that. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wichita Mountains. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more exciting                  stuff to do here in the Wichita Mountains. There's so much to do here at Upper Strange Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Erwin Acres Mobile Home Park is a delightful spot for that, and since you're here, you could also pop by pretty Geronimo Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Jimmy Creek is a splendid whitewater spot close to Upper Strange Pond, and for you golfers we recommend close by Lawton Golf Course.
