Smith Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Hampton Inn Suites Durant is a magnificent place to get some rest; Smith Lake is a fine location to visit for more than one day, Mobile Traveler RV Park is a fine       location to camp nearby. Looking for something near Smith Lake? Danielson Lake is close by, and Newberry Creek Resort and Marina is a tremendous campground nearby. If only every spot had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great planet it would be. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Pennington Creek. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Blue River, naturally you could also have a look at Upper Danielson Lake since you're here; it's not far at all.                  During the days of summer at Smith Lake highs are commonly in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's.
