After a long day outdoors Microtel Inn and Suites Durant is a great site to spend a night or two, and a lake nearby is Conditt Lake. For the period of the summer months at Shepard Lake temperatures are mostly in the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 70's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Shepard Lake are in       the 20's. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things close to Shepard Lake. Camping at Coy Simmons RV Park is always a brilliant experience, and if you're a golfer then a delightful nearby course is Durant Country Club. All the water falling down from the sky makes Shepard Lake a wet location; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest.
