Shell lake in Garfield co okla is not a public lake. The dam is wore down and the lake is very shallow. Swimming at this lake would not be smart do to the high population of snakes. In the wintertime I wouldn't advise anybody to go on this property, reason being is the hunters who hunt this don't like people to go disturb the wildlife here. From deer to mountain lions and even pelicans have been seen here. Says John Doe
Cedar Valley RV Park is a wonderful
campground nearby, and there's some interesting stuff to make out at Shell Lake Dam right next door to Shell Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Perry Lake is a fine location to camp, and there are plenty of people from Covington here at Shell Lake.
