At Shadwick Lake during the summertime highs are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 70's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Shadwick Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the area near Shadwick Lake has to offer. On a great day at Shadwick Lake       you can take a hike along the Billy Creek Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Days Inn. There's whitewater on Kiamichi River for all you adrenaline junkies; you don’t have to go far from Shadwick Lake to make out the water at Shadwick Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. There is a good hiking trail close to Shadwick Lake called the Boardstand Trail, and a beautiful lake like Beaver Lake is a splendid location to explore. But wait, there's more cool things                  to do in the Ouachita Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Big Creek; Shadwick Lake is a tremendous spot to visit for more than one day, Winding Star Campground is a tremendous spot to camp nearby. Shadwick Lake is a beautiful lake in the Ouachita Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Big Cedar RV Park and Cabins is a good campground nearby. Shadwick Lake is a relatively wet place commonly with a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture. You get a great vista of Lost Mountain from Shadwick Lake; Gaither Lake is a perfect lake nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Ouachita Mountains.
