Oklahoma has many beautiful lakes and Shadwick Lake is one of them. All the outdoors amusing things in the Ouachita Mountains will keep you coming back many times. If you need a place to stay Best Western Traders Inn is a great choice, and dry warm beds await you at Days Inn. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ouachita Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Winding Star Campground since you're here at Shadwick Lake, and Big Creek has a delightful whitewater paddling spot close by. High temperatures at Shadwick Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 90's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 70's. down all through the wintertime temperatures at Shadwick Lake dip into the 20's. A good site to camp here at Shadwick Lake is Big Cedar RV Park and Cabins, and paddling on Kiamichi River is so much fun.
On a nice day at Shadwick
Lake you can take a hike along the Billy Creek Trail, and the top of Lost Mountain is easily spotted from Shadwick Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Shadwick Lake gets a good deal of water; May is when you get the most rain here, and
January is the month with the least moisture.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Ouachita Mountains. An attention-grabbing thing to visit right next door to Shadwick Lake is Shadwick Lake Dam; the Boardstand Trail is a glorious hiking trail close by.
