And if that's not enough there's a lot more enjoyable things to do in the Wichita Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Baymont Inn & Suites Lawton. The amount of rainfall that falls at Rush Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily May, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is January. If only every place had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great       planet it would be. A trip to Turtle Springs will fill your soul with good feelings, and you can stay the night at Letra Campground and Picnic Area. Rush Lake Dam is stunning and it's in close proximity to Rush Lake, and people from Lawton love to come here. For the period of the summer here at Rush Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 90's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Rush Lake                  throughout the winter usually dip into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn and Suites Lawton is a great place to spend a night or two, and you can run the rapids of Jimmy Creek. Rush Lake is located in the Wichita Mountains. Just can't get enough of the Wichita Mountains. Graham Flat is a delightful place to stretch your legs a bit; lakes are such serene locations, why not explore Lake Jed Johnson.
