Dry warm beds await you at La Quinta Inn and Suites Lawton, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Jimmy Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wichita Mountains. Visit Quanah Creek while you're here at Pottawatomie Pond; there's some out of the ordinary stuff to catch       a sight of at Potawatomi Twins Dam near Pottawatomie Pond. Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Wichita Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Pottawatomie Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Doris Campground is a good site for that, and if you need a place to stay Baymont Inn & Suites Lawton is a pleasant choice. From a precipitation point of view Pottawatomie Pond is a relatively                  normal place; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. Pottawatomie Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Letra Campground and Picnic Area is a wonderful local campground, and there are plenty of people from Lawton here. High temperatures at Pottawatomie Pond during the days of summer are in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Pottawatomie Pond sink into the 20's. Man, is there heaps of amusing things to do near Pottawatomie Pond.
