This site, the Arbuckle Mountains, has so much outdoors fun stuff. Mckown Lake is right by the Cliffside Trail, and if you're visiting from Ardmore, you won't be the only one. An average amount of precipitation falls at Mckown Lake; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Shady Cove RV Park is always       a good experience, and why not pop by Mckown Lake Dam while you're here. Summertime highs at Mckown Lake generally tend to be in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 70's. All through the winter highs are generally in the 50's while Mckown Lake overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. And that's not all you can do here at Mckown Lake. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can                  always go whitewater paddling on Washita River, and dry warm beds await you at Candlewood Suites ARDMORE. This lake is located in the wonderful Arbuckle Mountains. If you came to camp Lake Murray State Park is a nice place to do that, naturally you could also visit Carter 1 Reservoir if you're here; it's not far at all. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Arbuckle Mountains. Chickasaw National Recreation Area is a tremendous location close to Mckown Lake, and if you've had enough of Mckown Lake, Chickasaw Lake is nearby.
