Be careful coming to the Ouachita Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Through the       warmest time of the year highs here at Lake McAlester reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Highs during the winter are typically in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Lake McAlester tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel and RV Park is a wonderful campground here; Lake Mcalester Dam is a scenic location. This lake is located in the wonderful Ouachita Mountains.
