Lots of folks from McAlester come to Hopper Lake; Mcalester Super 8 Motel is a perfect spot to get some rest. This lake is located in the wonderful Ouachita Mountains. The yearly precipitation       here at Hopper Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Ouachita Mountains. A glorious close by hotel is Best Value Inn and Suites-McAlester/Savanna, and Bill Hopper Lake Dam is beautiful. All through the summer months highs here at Hopper Lake reach the 90's.
