Just can't get enough of the Wichita Mountains. Baymont Inn & Suites Lawton is a great place to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Engineer Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Doris Campground is a great location for that; Jimmy Creek is a great whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. You'll hit upon a pretty lake called Lake Jed Johnson near Engineer       Pond, and a journey to Jed Flat invigorates the spirit. An average amount of rainfall falls at Engineer Pond; May is when you get the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture. At Engineer Pond during the long summer days highs are in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Engineer Pond temperatures dip to the 20's. You can take a little                  tour to Ketch Lake Dam if you're here at Engineer Pond. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Engineer Pond has to offer, you can camp at Letra Campground and Picnic Area. And that's not all you can do here in the Wichita Mountains. A good close by hotel is La Quinta Inn and Suites Lawton, and the summit of Costain Hill can be spotted from Engineer Pond. Be careful coming to Engineer Pond, you might not ever want to go home again. Here at Engineer Pond you'll probably meet some people from Lawton, and a pretty lake like Ketch Lake is a tremendous location to take a look at.
