All year is a fine time in the Wichita Mountains if you like the outdoors. One of the main traits of the surroundings of Elmer Thomas Lake is Davidson Hill; La Quinta Inn and Suites Lawton is a great spot to get some rest. If you came for an overnight stay Letra Campground and Picnic Area is a nice spot to camp, and a fine place for whitewater paddling is Jimmy Creek. For the period       of the warm months highs here at Elmer Thomas Lake get into the 90's. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Elmer Thomas Lake. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Elmer Thomas Lake.
