Webb Lake
 | 15 miles away last weekend I went crappie fishing about 30-40 yards away from the lake's dam. I was using a 5''0 rod and real with 6 lb. test. I always go to Wal-Mart before I head out to the lake I spend about 20$ on one fishing trip, but it's worth it because there are some nice slab's in web lake. I use read and white jigs ( make sure use the plastic bodies ) not feather they are a waste of time the plastic is better it percents more of a natural fall for fish. thanks have fun and be safe........ |
Pennington Creek
 | 16 miles away You certainly want to come when the water is up and flowing. A lot of walking and carrying your boat otherwise. The bottom is very rocky and uneven, and the creek gets wide in several spots. With the water at the current Level (06-21-2008) you will not be able to paddle through most of the creek. Devil Den, Slippery Falls, or pennington falls, all are to shallow to paddle. These are the areas that have the larger rapids when the creek is up and flowing. So they are also the places that the bottom sticks up the highest and hinders your paddle when the water is down.A great place to put in is Camp Bond it is five miles North of Tishomingo. They do have cabins and rv hook ups there. A path right up to the creek with a zip line going across and snack shack right by the water. You can take out just above the golf course at the low bridge, there are several houses there just north of the golf course the bridge is on the North side. Just before the damn. This run is about 4.5 miles maybe 5 on the outside. ... |
