Hiking along the Walters Mule Trail is delightful fun; Clayton Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a       day at, Indian Mounds Camp is a perfect local campground. Take a side visit to Hurd Creek, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Hurd Creek Trail. All through the days of summer, highs typically are in the 90's at Clayton Lake. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 70's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Clayton Lake tend to be in the 20's. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy                  all the amusing things in the Ouachita Mountains. Camping at Sardis Lake Campground is always a fine experience, and folks from McAlester love to come here. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Clayton Trail. Lakes?
