Cavanal Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout May; the driest of the months is January. Through the summer at Cavanal Lake highs are commonly in the 90's; the overnight is a little cooler of course, commonly in the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Cavanal Lake fall into the 20's. So       many entertaining things to do here in the Ouachita Mountains, too magnificent to be true. There's so much to do here at Cavanal Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Big Cedar RV Park and Cabins is a great site for that, and Cavanal Lake is right by the Boardstand Trail. All year is a great time in the Ouachita Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Looking for something next to Cavanal Lake? Clear Lake is nearby, and Cavanal Lake is delightful                  enough to spend more than a day at, Horse Thief Spring Campground is a delightful local campground. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ouachita Mountains. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Some of the water close by flows, like Caston Creek; a great close by hotel is Days Inn. This lake is so wonderful.
