Have a fine hiking adventure along the Turney Ranch Trail, and here at Bohannon Lake you can spot Chancellor Mountain. Now, you may imagine that's heaps but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Ouachita Mountains. Hiking along the Honobia Trail is nice fun, and Big Eagle Creek - Eagle Fork has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. During the summertime here at Bohannon Lake, high temperatures       ordinarily get into the 90's; the night is a tad cooler of course, usually in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's while Bohannon Lake night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn and Suites Poteau, and camping at Horse Thief Spring Campground is always a delightful experience. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! You'll discover a scenic lake called Flying Ranch Number 1 Reservoir near Bohannon Lake, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little River. The high level of rain makes Bohannon Lake a quite wet location; most of the rain falls throughout May while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. What a location this is for outdoors people. A lovely lake like Byhannon Lake in the vicinity of Bohannon Lake is a delightful place to stop by; Bohannon Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Billy Creek Campground is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
