The Acorn Trail is a fine hiking trail right next door to Tycoon Lake; this is a popular spot for folks from Point Pleasant. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Tycoon Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Lazy Dog Camp-Resort is a pleasant spot to camp; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Deer Hollow Trail. Tycoon Lake is a good place of typical rain;       July is when you get the most rain here while January is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Old Town Campgrounds, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Gallipolis-Point Pleasant, Oh is a perfect choice. Barren Creek is a lovely stream that is worth stopping at, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Natural Gorge Trail.
