What a nice lake Tumlin Lake is. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Harrison, Oh is a great place to get some rest, and time spent at Long Island Beach is always glorious. Summertime at Tumlin Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Tumlin Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Tumlin Lake

| | is a tremendous spot to visit for more than one day, Hickory Lake Campground is a tremendous spot to camp nearby, and wonderful water scenery is available at Tumlin Lake Dam in close proximity to Tumlin Lake.
Great Miami River has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby, and Indian Springs Campground is a good local campground. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things next to Tumlin Lake. Twin Lakes is a good lake near Tumlin Lake, and great hiking | |

is available along the Blue Jacket Trail. There's great hiking along the Little Turtle Trail; you'll probably meet some folks from Cincinnati-Middletown here.
What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Gotta ski! Perfect North is
a glorious location to do that, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn Harrison is a great place to spend a night or two. From a rainfall point of view Tumlin Lake is a quite normal place; May is the wettest month with most rain
while January is mostly the driest month.
Lakes? Sure, Hidden Valley Lake is in the neighborhood; paddling on Gunpowder Creek is so much fun. Fox Run is near Tumlin Lake and is always a bliss to go to; Sugar Ridge Golf Club is a glorious golf course nearby.

Great Miami River
| Having paddled the 70 miles of the Great Miami, the WW is great for beginners or rec paddlers wanting to have a little excitement added to their trip. Water Quality is good, in fact it can be better then the Little Miami during low water. Best time to hit the GM is when it is running between 2500cfs and 3800cfs (Hamilton USGS gage if your looking for some WW. There isn't too many places in the summer in the Midwest you can find good water and waves, but the Great Miami still flows well in August....50 hole is not much of a surf and it is a porta john....... |

wow thats crazy......es camp ernst rd there is not much water most times of the year. but one spring day a thunder storm had just pass and go over and when we came throuh ole gunpowder was cooking pretty good we went and got his canoe and put in at the bridge thier at camp ernst rd. the water was white caping man we were moving really fast it was great. we went about a mile when we saw a tree that had fallen all the way across the creek we started to paddle for the bank when we got up to the bank i push to get us on the bank and my paddle broke in half in my hand. so here we are about a mile down creek with one paddle.so much for old wooded paddles we packed the canoe around the tree and put back in well needless to say its hard to steer a canoe with one paddle . we met the first tree limb that was hanging over it knock our butts out of the boat .were going down the creek with the canoe upside down . there is no getting your footing . we finally got to a calm spot i guess a deep pool were we could get to the bank flip the canoe upright and proceed again it wasnt very long til the same type of deal hap... |
