There's so much to do here at Timber Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Alton Campground is a great site for that. This lake is so wonderful. Some of       the water nearby flows, like Gay Run; hiking along the Sugar Maple Hiking Trail is brilliant fun. Timber Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. After a long day outdoors Cross Country Inn Columbus West/Hilliard is a magnificent place to spend a night or two, and there are plenty of folks from Columbus here at Timber Lake. Get drenched paddling                  on Scioto River, and Split Rock Golf Club is a great golf course nearby. Take a hike on the Hawthorn Loop Trail. Summertime at Timber Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's.
