If you need a place to stay Baymont Inn And Suites Concord/Mentor is a wonderful choice, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Erie Trail. Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Spring Lake. There's so much to do here at Spring Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Windrush Hollow Camp is a good place for that, and why not stop at East Branch Reservoir Dam if you're here. This lake is

| | so wonderful. There are other spots here than Spring Lake, for example East Branch Reservoir; great skiing awaits you at Alpine Valley. Through the long summer days highs here at Spring Lake get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Spring Lake sink into the 10's. From a precipitation point of view Spring Lake is | |
| |
a reasonably normal spot; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There are some great whitewater spots on Big Creek; on a magnificent
day you can take a hike along the Beach Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Quail Hollow Resort is a glorious location to get some rest, and there's whitewater on Paine Creek for all you adrenaline kick people. You'll need more
than a day to explore everything Spring Lake has to offer, you can camp at Windrush Hollow Camp, and Sperry Pond is a brilliant lake close by. There is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Spring Lake called the Iroquois Trail, and while you're here you can play some golf at Rolling Green Golf Club.

Lake Estabrook
 | What's left of the lake is on Rt 700, NE of Parkman, OH at Latitude: 412256N and Longitude: 0810431W. Around yr 2000, the dam at the West end of the lake broke and the lake drained. All that's left is the creek that was originally dammed to make the lake, along with the broken dam. Camp Chicagami is a Boy Scout camp located on the shore of where the lake used to be. It was about a 30 acre lake, and it's a shame that it's gone now.... |
La Due Reservoir
 | This is a relatively large lake (1500 acres) located in NE Ohio, at the intersection of state Rt 422 and Rt 44. The lake is managed by the Ohio Division of Wildlife. There are no camps or parks on the shore of the lake. The lake is part of the city of Akron water supply system. Access to the lake is limited to boating/fishing, and gasoline motors are not allowed. If you want to fish this lake, bring two trolling batteries as the lake is large. Fish to be caught include largemouth bass, crappie (white and black), channel catfish, yellow perch, bluegill, walleye and the occasional northern pike (rare, but according to the boathouse attendant, there are a few in the lake).... |
