If you need a spot to stay Hampton Inn & Suites Youngstown-Canfield, OH is a good choice, and why not camp at Cherry Valley Camp Ground since you're here at Smith Pond. That right there is a heap already, but it goes on; Smith Pond has it all. East Branch Middle Fork Little Beaver Creek is a great place to stop by, and you can go for a hike on the Dogwood Trail. Salem       Reservoir is a great lake right next door to Smith Pond. Twin Springs Golf Course is a great golf course nearby, and if you're visiting from East Liverpool-Salem, you won't be the only one. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Little Beaver Creek; Quality Inn & Suites is a wonderful site to get some rest. At Smith Pond Dam in close proximity to Smith Pond there are some interesting things to see, and don't leave Smith Pond without first going for a hike                  along the Vondergreen Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Smith Pond, for example Salem Reservoir, and get drenched paddling on Little Beaver Creek. Chaparral Family Campground is a glorious local campground, and going for a hike on the Pine Ridge Trail is always a tremendous adventure. All through the warm days of summer at Smith Pond highs are generally in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Smith Pond tend to be in the 10's.
