Sky Lake is not the only place nearby, Twin Lake is a nearby lake; do take a hike on the Deer Hollow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites HUNTINGTON-CIVIC ARENA is a good choice; a round of golf at nearby Sugarwood Golf Club is a great way to kill some time. Through the summertime       here at Sky Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Sky Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. Man, is there plenty of enjoyable stuff to do close to Sky Lake. At Sky Lake you always meet someone from Huntington-Ashland, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Mud River. Camping is available                  at Ashland/Huntington West KOA, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Natural Gorge Trail. The amount of rainfall that falls at Sky Lake is close to the national average; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and October is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A fine site to camp here at Sky Lake is Beech Fork State Park.
