Why not visit a swamp like Mentor Marsh if you're here at Shipman Pond, and enjoy a round of golf at Casement Golf Club. Shipman Pond gets a common amount of rain; throughout the month of September you get the most rain around here, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Camp Ho Mita KODA, and hiking is a popular thing to do       around Shipman Pond; Mushers Trail is a nice local trail. Just can't get enough of Shipman Pond. Kellogg Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and lakes are such calm locations, why not pop by Sans Souce Lake. Paddling on Big Creek is so much fun, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Erie Trail. Looking for some flowing water? Try Grand River, and there are other sites here than Shipman Pond, for example L'Alouette Plumee Lake. Throughout                  the summer here at Shipman Pond, high temperatures generally get into the 80's; the overnight is a bit cooler of course, usually in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Shipman Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. A brilliant close by hotel is Residence Inn By Marriott Cleveland/Mentor, and skiing at Alpine Valley is one of those things you just must do. This lake is so wonderful.
