This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel - Ripley is a nice location to get some rest, and naturally Barney Fork flows through this vicinity. For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Shade Valley Lake get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with       lows in the 10's to Shade Valley Lake. If you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - Athens is a good choice; camping is available at River's Bend Campgrounds. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. During your tour to Shade Valley Lake you'll meet some folks from Athens for sure, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Sycamore Valley Trail. While you're here at Shade Valley Lake you can take a hike along the Riverview Trail; no need                  to travel far to explore attention-grabbing stuff like Stony Point.
