Schocalog Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Why not camp at Camelot Camping Grounds while you're here at Schocalog Lake. A striking lake like Black Pond near Schocalog Lake is a splendid location to go to, and Brandywine is a very popular ski area around here. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Tamsin RV Park; you're sure to come across some good people from Akron here. Some of the water close by flows, like Schocalog

| | Run, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Cuyahoga River. The yearly precipitation here at Schocalog Lake is about average; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. After a long day outdoors Hilton Akron/Fairlawn is a good place to spend a night or two; an afternoon playing golf at Good Park Golf Course is always a diversion. The warmest time of the year at | |

Schocalog Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows all through the wintertime for Schocalog Lake tend
to be in the 10's. Do pop by White Pond in the neighborhood of Schocalog Lake, it's a wonderful lake, and don't miss out on a spree to Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. There are
some wonderful whitewater spots on Yellow Creek, and Boston Mills has good slopes and a friendly staff. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Schocalog Lake. Oakwood at Park Hill at Fairlawn is a good site to get some rest, and a good swamp right next door to Schocalog Lake is Perkins Swamp.

Yellow Creek
the week of july 3 has been a nasty one for yellow creek. a developer in richfield has clear cut into zoned conservation district. some of this district was even under the control of the western reserve conservation district and they were never informed. this land is within 100 feet of the northern most feeder creek to yellow creek. any help we could receive with this matter would be appreciated....
Summit Lake
I have no clue if there is swimming in Summit Lake and I would like to know....
Cuyahoga River
The sewage treatment plant just up river of the put-in location can make paddling after a big rain a little smelly. The park doesn't recommend any paddling on the river, and if you are going you should check their website for construction on the bridges along the way....
Boston Mills
Boston Mills is great!!!...
Virginia Kendall Park Lake
The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area. Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.) If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride....

Lake O'Springs
16 miles away This lake is a natural lake made up of many springs. From the many arrow heads found around the lake there is no doubt that it was home to indiginous tribes at one time or another. In the early part of the 20th century it was a summer retreat for some people. In the late 60's early 70's it was a great venue for local bands to play and a summer park with swimming etc. as well....
