The smiling people of Chillicothe like to hang out close by; fine water scenery is available at Ross Lake Dam near Ross Lake. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Ross Lake reach the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. After a long day outdoors Baymont Inn & Suites Chillicothe is a fine site to spend a night or two, and you can go for a hike on the Squawroot Nature Trail. Some nearby water includes Lick Run; Berkshire Lake is a tremendous lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Trail. Ross Lake gets a common amount of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain while January is usually the driest month. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things close to Ross Lake. There's so much to do
here at Ross Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Forest Haven Campground is a glorious location for that, and lakes are such calm places, why not check out Caldwell Lake.

The tree canopy provides an abundance of shade in the summer to our campground and sites, as well as a home to many different species of birds and wildlife. The sites overlooking the creek and ravine provide the best area for bird watching. This is a quiet, peaceful, family campground, away from the noises of the city and roads.
Here at Lake Hill campground, to provide for a safe and peaceful environment for all our guests, alcohol is not allowed. We also do not allow anyone to bring in their own fire wood, to prevent the spread of pests, especially the Emerald Ash Borer.
Our campground is situated on 65 acres of forested hills, with only 20 acres being developed into the campground. We offer large, private, shady sites, most with FHU, some sites upgraded to 50amp. This campground is not for those who prefer the resort quality accomidations, we are a bit more laid back. We don't have manicured lawns, but in the spring, the profussion of wild flowers sprinkled liberally in the grass almost make it a crime to mow it. (But we do!)
